I'm not usually all that in tune with the fashion world, but has anyone heard of Connie Chiu?

I'm not even sure if she still models, none of the information I could find was very current, although she has her hand in short story writing and occasional television spots. I've always thought albinos are beautiful, and her unusual pale eyes make her even more striking.

I just got notice that Schmap has accepted my photo of the Space Needle during gay pride, and it has been published on their city guide of Seattle for the 2009 edition :-D

Having a night out was pretty neat! I got to see familiar faces, ate black bean cakes, drank, and ended the night with Bacon Strip, the theme for the night was Truck Stop Tranny Tramps Get Married! I managed to take some blurry photos and one decent video clip of Emma Gawd and Anna Rexia...

I went home alone, had a contemplative cab ride, and fell asleep feeling satisfied.

I managed to get out for a dolly meet and Pride this weekend, all in the same day! As for the dolls, I just sat around and ate watermelon while gabbing about dolly things during the first half of the day over at Golden Gardens. Sadly the photos didn't turn out so nice. Afterward I got ready to head downtown for the gays!

I had not been to the expanded version that takes place downtown these days, it was a bit overwhelming. Having gone alone, I just wandered around the whole place and took shots of interesting people and the crowds. I also brought Wataru, my gay doll. He had some fun too!

These cute guys were dancing around the fountain, so I just had to ask "do you want a picture with my gay doll?"

I ran into someone who invited me to a bbq on the hill at Sylvia's house, and since I had taken enough photos it was time to hop the bus and have a look at who was there. It was a nice end to things, very relaxed and people I knew to chat with. I had two hotdogs and two beers, then split to get some more food and beer with a few other people when the party broke up. I was feeling very lazy today from running around so much, but it was well worth getting a dose of the weather and goings-on!

Last night I went to see John Waters!!!
Everyone I had talked to about it was either on the fence or couldn't go, so I just bought a ticket and went alone. The seating prices had names: Polyester, Beehive, Mink Stole, and Divine. I could afford a Beehive ticket, which was center row and offered a good view, although too far for a decent chance at photographs. I really wanted a Divine seat, since it include an invitation to a fancy after party with John himself, but it was $100. If I set aside a little money here and there I can splurge the next time he comes to town. It was such a treat to see him speaking about his past works and all the bizarre stories associated with the goings-on, there was also a brief Q&A. Plus there were a few weirdos in drag seated in the audience, Jackie Hell was the only one I recognized.

The show program, my ticket stub, and one of his books that was for sale...

All the books were signed! It was the next best thing to meeting him, so I had to have it.

Bac-olympics

It took me long enough (over a week), but here's a report on the Olympics themed Bacon Strip! There were lots of athletic costumes and performance numbers ranging from aerobics to synchronized swimming. Overall it was a great show, lots of variety and none of it felt like it was lagging. The idea for Bad Actors was to do 'Grease' set in Ancient Greece, so it was togas with '50s-type accessories for our look. The rehearsals felt very compact and I feared for it being so short notice, but it all worked out and we had lots of fun doing it. We went on early, so the rest of the night was taking in the other performances, drinkin' and dancin'.

Sylvia O'Stayformore took photos that night, and others are still surfacing...

My supporting role was as Rizzo, the baddest bitch in the whole school. She foretold the prophecy by sacrificing a pig and interpreting the appearance of it's entrails (well, it was just a plush piggy full of noodles).

We had a chariot drag race between the two rival teen gangs! Rizzo dropped the scarf to start it up.

Greek tragedy isn't complete without some suicide, so we killed ourselves one by one for various reasons. Rizzo slit her throat after learning she was knocked-up.

NOT an orgy! After our mass suicide the narrator collected our souls... and we went to the bar!

I just got home from a bizarre and entertaining Think-Tank for this Saturday's performance of 'Paris Hilton: The Musical!'. The ground work for the story is laid out and now it's up to my Bad Actor buddies and I to pull it together for Queerfest, the 'sister' celebration of the official Pride celebration. One day only performance, so come on down to Volunteer Park to see what we have in store for you... c'mon, have a sense of humor (unless you're one of those too-serious-to-live-dykes, then it's probably too late). The left image is normally me, the right image is how Michael A Goldberg caught me just this last Saturday night at the previously mentioned ADULT. performance. Nicola offered the mic for a moment, and I screamed some garbled lyrics into it. I think she has an amused expression, or maybe she was hoping I was not about to bite.

This is the full set for the show, gorgeous work by Mr. Goldberg!

Additionally, I'm about to sit down and read about Chinese calligraphy, since the next project is to make a paper sampler book with a theme based on type history. Then there are the fakey poster designs I need to re-do in cut paper... Should be fun!

Yesterday was quite decadent. After doing a morning shift, I piled in the car with the folks and my sister to drive around a little. First to Ballard to pick up my ticket at the record store and then to have some lunch... at Madame K's! I've been wanting to stop in there for the longest time, it's a pizza place that was once a brothel in pioneer times, so it's all done up like a campy whore house! We were one of the first to step in, so we got the window seat with some panties and heels hanging on hooks nearby... plus we got to see the amused and disapproving looks the passersby gave as they sized up the sign out front, which read "Better Orgasms Than The Kind You Get at Home!" ;-) The pizza was delicious, and we all shared a 'chocolate orgasm'... that being the house dessert special.

Later, after picking up some ear plugs, I went out with my aforementioned ticket to see ADULT. at Chop Suey. I showed up far too early, and the opening band was terrible, although when I was stepping out for air I ran into moriae and her beau Anthony, so we walked and chatted our way to the Mercury, a basement goth club they showed me. The layout of the place was great, although the music was only mehh. I was rather amused, since there was this guy dressed in goth uniform and dancing really intensely while wearing leather sandals with white socks!!! Too funny, he might as well have worn pink bunny slippers.

After a while, we made it back to see a little of Erase Errata, which were really good from what I got to see. Plus I ran into Daniel, so we got to chit chat a while about silly things. As for ADULT., it was really fun to see them do a live act. It was staggering and harsh, with red strobe lights, and at one point Nicola slid into the crowd. I was in the right spot at the time, as she shared her mic a little and I got to growl and scream into it :) The dancing area was really smelly from all the un-bathed hipsters, but I put up with it for the sake of being there and enjoying the show. There was a photographer there, and he caught some beautiful shots, but I'll hold off on linking to those till I can chat with him over his Flickr page. For now here are a few pics I managed:

As promised, I got my filthy hands on some copies of the Crotch Series my friend Kit did for school... he got an A! I'll slip them behind a cut for your convenience, just in case you're not in the mood to stare at portraits of my nether region...

These were the ones he selected out of 200+ pictures he took. It got to be the most fun when I started to unzip (a mutual idea we had), and there was much more of a show since we were in a semi-private ally... I'll see if I can get copies of the more lewd photos >:)

This last weekend was really nice for a change. I put in some hours at work, took a nap, then went on my way downtown with a friend for the closing show of Super Females!. She is kinda new to the area, so it was my choice for a few spots to see before hand. A nice evening stroll in the new walking park, and a drink at Rosebud before heading to the show. It was somehow funnier the second time seeing it, and the video montage was at last incorporated. It was fun to hear her laugh at the jokes too. I was told to stop by the dressing room after the show, and what a lovely surprise! The guys cut me a check for working on promotional elements, my very first paid commission!! It was so sweet of them to do so, I didn't even ask for it, and rewarding to see a value placed on what I could do for them. It was a great night, even though I was home early-ish.

I missed out on the Pullip Meet, but the Blythe Meet was accomplished. It was an all day affair too, carpooling down to Tacoma and back (but totally worth it). All sorts of goodies, chit-chat, admiring each other's dollys, so decadent and playful. I added some new photos to the bottom of this set---> here.

Today was gorgeous, sunny and warm with a hint of breeze, no more freak snow storms. I could feel my Seasonal Blues melt away.

Two more weeks of school, four more projects to finish, and I need to decide on what classes to register for next. I'll be glad to have the break in-between it all.

If it lasts through the night, campus will likely be closed, but I'll still have to walk to work in the evening. There has been a obscene number of snow-day cancellations already, so I don't like this too much.

Having broken down and bought cold medicine has been helpful, it's like coming back from the dead. Usually I just let the virus duke it out with my immune system, but I needed something more effective.

There was a store mini meeting today at my co-worker's house, we all tested espresso machines and took notes on their selling points. Not too shabby, since there was free pizza. It was funny, since at one point during the presentation the mood music shifted into something heavy metal while we were trying to be attentive and serious, haha \m/
